SHEQ Manager

Based on our network of depots, ideal candidates for this position will currently live in the Harlow (South), Derby (Midlands) or Leeds (North) areas of the country.The SHEQ Manager reports directly to the Head of SHEQ for Groundforce UK & Ireland and supports the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the company's SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards. The post holder will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for promoting a culture of safety and quality within the division. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement SHEQ policies and procedures in compliance with UK health and safety regulations and standards where requiredConduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplaceCollaborate with management and employees to establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environmentProvide training and support to employees on SHEQ
matters, including safe work practices and emergency proceduresInvestigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrenceMonitor and report on SHEQ performance metrics to senior management.Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors to ensure compliance with legal requirementsDeliver and maintain a SHEQ change programme to embed and develop a positive culture across the divisionComplete Divisional audit programmes, depot/office/site visits, and output reportingEngage in a long-term strategy to identify suitable systems for managing Health & Safety and TransportReview risk events and identify potential recurring issues across Divisional structures, while also investigating and analysing root causes of high-risk events.Manage the certification process for ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO50001 standardsEngage with the Group Health, Safety and Sustainability teams, aligning initiatives with the overall sustainability

strategyActively participate in risk sub-committees, including those related to compliance, transport, and procurementWhat We're Looking For Possess a recognised Health and Safety qualification and membership of the relevant professional body. NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) Level 6 in Occupational Safety and HealthProven and demonstrable experience in an operational SHEQ role, preferably in a construction, rental or product supply environmentsStrong knowledge of UK & Ireland health, safety & environmental regulations and standardsThorough knowledge and understanding of applicable ISO standardsExhibit knowledge in transport regulation and requirements for Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs)Display experience in leading incident investigationsDisplay the ability to translate Risk Management theory into practical applicationDemonstrate experience in managing multiple work streams simultaneously, with a proactive approach to transformational leadershipExhibit
