Are you an experienced leader ready to take charge of a dynamic team and drive operational excellence in a workplace that values you and your growth?, Smurfit Westrock Beacon has an exciting opportunity for a Shift Manager to join our Operations team. Reporting to the Operations Director, this first-line management role is key to overseeing the day-to-day manufacturing process, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You ll lead a morning team of production operatives (6am to 2pm), manage resources, and work towards achieving operational targets, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and positive leadership.,
- People Management: Lead and support your team through effective communication, training and ongoing performance management.
- Controls & Targets: Drive operational excellence by monitoring key metrics such as waste reduction, quality standards, and on-time delivery.
- Operations: Ensure safety compliance, optimise machine performance, and maintain high-quality output to meet customer requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement, conduct audits, and implement strategies for enhanced efficiency.
We re looking for an ambitious and proactive leader with a proven track record in manufacturing or FMCG environments. You ll bring strong people management skills, including resource planning, performance development, and quality assurance, and have a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement. This role is ideal for someone ready to grow and take the next step in their career. - Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge and experience of production planning.
- Effective problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- IT literacy and technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment. A commitment to personal growth and alignment with Smurfit Westrock s core values - Loyalty, Integrity, and Trust - is essential. Experience with root cause analysis or Six Sigma is desirable.
