Shift Plant Operator

We are now recruiting for an Shift Plant Operator, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. To effect the safe and efficient operation of the Biomass Power Plant at Widmerpool under the overall control of the Shift Team Leader. You will operate all aspects of the Biomass Power Plant to ensure it functions at maximum levels of safety, availability, efficiency, and power output.

You'll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

\rRecognised apprenticeship/engineering qualification.\rPractical experience in an operations or maintenance role in a power generation, EfW, marine propulsion, petrochemical or process systems setting.\rGood communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with peers.\rWillingness to work shift systems associated with a 24/7 operation.\rExperience of operating plant via a DCS/SCADA interface.\rKnowledge of pressure systems, LV and HV electricity preferable.\rProficient IT skills including word & excel for reporting duties.\rUnderstanding of Safe Systems of Work.\r\r

We are we've been awarded a contract by sustainable energy specialists Gren to operate and maintain the Widmerpool Biomass Plant in Nottingham.

The 6.8MWe combined heat and power station, fueled by waste wood, is the second Gren-owned site managed by px Group following the successful partnership at Holbrook biomass CHP facility in Sheffield.
