Shift Technician

This role plays a crucial part in our can making process, primarily focusing on quality, output, spoilage controls, health & safety and housekeeping.

Key Responsbilities

• Carry out regular Quality checks which includes:



• Film weight checks


• Cup quality checks


• Wall thickness checks - managing tooling changes


• Washer / chemical checks


• Decoration and mobility checks


• LSM checks - Enamel ratings


• Dimensional checks in the necker


• Palletiser pack changes - across 4 different palletisers


• Label changes - approximately 40+ per week.



• Carry out regular size changes and neck diameter changes.


• Participate in plant maintenance and overhauls as required.


• Participate in breakdowns and maintenance of plant services / general plant breakdowns.


• Strapper breakdowns and maintenance.


• Utilising available data to maximise productivity.


• Flexible approach to support business objectives
  
  The ideal person for this role will have a positive 'can do' attitude and demonstrate a proactive approach to learning the role. They will need to be able to work independently and as part of a small team depending on the needs of production.


They will also:

• Have 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English


• Have completed a recognised Time Served Apprenticeship


• Have an ONC / HNC Qualification or equivalent


• Are fluent in written and spoken English


• Have basic Computer Skills


• Have previous experience working within a high-speed process environment.


• Have previous shift experience (desireable)
  
  Salary: £54,541.10 per annum


• Pension contribution up to 10%


• 5 x 18 day breaks per year, built into shift pattern
