Full Job Description

  • Securing load of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured to minimise chances of damage.
  • Be aware of the vehicle defects and bring to the attention of Transport Office as necessary.
  • Perform non-stop shunting of trailers within the yard to ensure efficient operations.
  • Safely manoeuvre vehicles in tight and busy spaces.
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the security and warehouse dispatch teams to maintain seamless workflow.
  • Report any defects or issues promptly to the transport team.
  • Maintain accurate records of shunting activities and vehicle movements.
  • Assist with other yard duties as needed.

    Keeping in regular contact with the Warehouse and Transport teams is essential to provide updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations, as is a 'can-do' attitude. You'll be a key member of our team, working alongside colleagues from the warehouse and in-coming drivers. You must be confident and have good communication skills given the safety critical nature of the work that is undertaken., Must have valid in date Class 1 licence
  • Must have valid in date CPC
  • Must hold Digital tachograph card
  • Must not have more than 6 points on licence
  • Minimum 2 years Class 1 driving experience required
  • Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
  • Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
  • Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering first class customer service
  • Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
