Main duties of the job Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Trust manages the largest integrated Sexual Health Service in Kent. (Genito-Urinary Medicine, Contraception and HIV), including the Kent-wide home testing, online STI service. Our services are across Maidstone, Tunbridge wells, Gravesend & Dartford We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and motivated RGN to join our team to deliver specialist care management, within an integrated sexual

  • Current NMC registration 1st level degree or equivalent. Sexual Health Qualification
  • External Sexual Health and / or Contraception Courses or willing to train Practice assessor mentor
  • BASHH Sexually Transmitted infection Foundation (STIF) Course
  • Patient Group Direction (PGD) Competency trained and willing to undertake at new role
  • Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health with FRSH, or willing to undertake, Cytology Certificate
  • Letter of competence in subdermal implants
  • STIF Intermediate competencies
  • Experience Essential criteria
  • Experience at a Band 5 post in Sexual or Reproductive Health or equivalent
  • Experience of working as an Autonomous practitioner
  • Evidence of up to date clinical and professional knowledge of the specialty.
  • Experience working under PGD, particularly within Contraceptive and Sexual Health Services.
  • Experience of collaborative working and the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance issues in relation to Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.
  • Desirable criteria
  • Clinical management experience
  • Teaching and supporting staff with their clinical skills
  • Experience working with vulnerable patients within integrated sexual health services, Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of sexual health and reproductive Knowledge of current research in sexual and reproductive health
  • Knowledge and understanding of current changes in NHS Health and Social Care Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and how it is implemented
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and Caldecott principals Experience and knowledge od safeguarding adults and children
  • Commitment to developing individual knowledge of a wide range of contraceptive and sexual health issues. An understanding of resource management
