Full Job Description
Rossall School is among the most successful and prestigious independent boarding and day schools in the North West with flourishing pupil numbers.
With an enticing and highly aspirational culture, Rossall School is offering opportunities for exceptional educators to come and work with supremely talented, inspiring and compassionate professionals to teach our hard working, ambitious and delightful pupils.
We are looking to appoint an experienced and talented Singing Teacher to join the School on a self-employed basis from January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to provide inspiration to pupils, to develop their confidence and skill in the performing arts and to contribute to the rich musical life of the school.
In 2020, Rossall launched its International Piano Academy and became one of a small number of All-Steinway Schools within the UK. The Academy is directed by Victor Lim and attracts outstanding musicians from around the world. Associate Professor Martin Roscoe is one of the UK's foremost pianists and has an exceptional reputation as an exciting recitalist and prolific recording artist. Other staff within the music department trained at some of the UK's leading conservatoires including the Royal Northern College of Music and the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music. The internationally acclaimed concert pianist Kathryn Stott is also an associate professor.
With Manchester and Liverpool just an hour away, our students are within easy access to some of the finest professional orchestras within the UK (including the Hallé and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic). Opportunities for regular performance abound at the School; our musicians perform in assemblies, regular lunchtime concerts, theatre productions, charity coffee mornings and external concerts. Competition and formal recognition of learning are both important features of the musical experience and our pupils have achieved some impressive accolades over the last few years.
