Full Job Description

At University Hospitals of Derby & Burton we are looking for dynamic, motivated Registered Nurse's to work within our custom built department at Queens Hospital Burton as part of our team providing high quality care to our patients. We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent position for an enthusiastic and hardworking Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurses to work within the Emergency Department. We consider the Department to be an innovative creative and friendly environment for those nurses who wish to provide high quality patient centred care. This is a full time post for 37.5 hours per week covering both days and nights., The Emergency Department at the Burton Queens is a busy ED, seeing on average 130,000 patients per year. The Emergency Department currently consists of a 6 bay initial assessment area known as pit-stop, 17 bay Majors area, 3 bay resus and a dedicated area for patients presenting with Minor injury or illness. This is subject to change due to the demand of the department. We are supported by an Acute Medicine Matron, 9 Senior Sisters and a Clinical Educator and provide opportunities for training and development. We work closely with University of Wolverhampton and are committed to the professional development of our staff in order to progress within Emergency Medicine. The team is made up of consultants, staff grade doctors, junior doctors, emergency nurse practitioners, nurses, health care assistants, reception/secretarial staff and housekeepers.
