An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated leadership in the Pinderfields Acute Care of the elderly assessment unit at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust (MYTT). We are looking for a band 6 who is passionate about leading change and adding value to patient care.

The Band 6 sister/charge nurse is a key member of the leadership team and will role model the behaviours required. The post holder should be experienced in elderly care and or assessment areas, the post holder should be someone who is enthusiastic, dynamic, and keen to make a positive impact on patient and staff experience's continuously improving the quality of patient care, as well as understanding the patients flow journey.

Applicants must demonstrate a compliance with professional values in line with the NMC Code and act as an appropriate role model at all times. As well as being able to take charge of a busy and dynamic department the successful applicant will also have excellent clinical skills and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team., The post holder will be responsible for leading and supporting the unit, co-ordinating the flow of patients admitted to the unit and deliervy of the care.

G41 is a 44 bedded acute frailty unit (ACE) with a view to getting patients home in a very timely fashion. Through clinical leadership, knowledge of the Trusts core values and utilisation of effective management skills will ensure that the department team is informed, trained and developed to enable care to be delivered to patients.

The successful candidate would be able to organise their work load, work well under pressure be flexible in their approach to changing needs and demands of the organisation, follow instructions under pressure and use their own initiative.
