Full Job Description

The post is for an experienced critical care outreach nurse working at an enhanced level of practice, responsible for workingautonomously to provide patient-centred clinical care to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care for the acutely and criticallyill patient outside of the critical care unit. Proficient in critical care nursing and apply their clinical expertise and specialist knowledge toall adult specialities outside of the critical care unit, Independently manage their own workload, assessing and managing risk, proactively challenging others about risk where required.o Provide effective clinical and professional leadership and be a role model providing support, education and training to themulti professional team. They will be expected to follow local policy and national guidance, including the national outreach forum'soperational standards (NORF, 2020), the guidelines for the provision of intensive care services (FICM, 2022) and relevant niceguidance (NICE, 2007; NICE 2009).o Overarching responsibility for interfacing critical care outreach across adult clinical specialties within secondary care.o Manage sickness in accordance with health board attendance management policies, responsible for the management of thedevelopment of junior colleagues. Support the investigation of incident reports and complaintso Support and promote the safeguarding of adults and children at risk, following local and all Wales safeguarding policies
and throughattending relevant training and liaise with the critical care unit, matron and site leads where required regarding workload,managerial issues and the provision of care to unwell patients across the site.
