Full Job Description

To act as a skilled practitioner within the Emergency Department, supporting team leaders to ensure that the highest quality of care is given to patients. Ensuring that all clinical practice is evidenced based, in accordance with local and national standards for good practice.

To support the Senior Sister or in the absence of take a lead role in Coordinating, planning and delivery of individualized care provided by the team in ED ensuring efficient management of the department.

Take a lead role in facilitating, education, supervising, supporting and developing qualified and unqualified staff.

You need to be enthusiastic and have leadership potential.

You will be expected to promote the delivery of high standard patient centered care in a supported environment

Previous experience working in an Emergency Department is Essential to the role

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
