Full Job Description

We are pleased to welcome an opportunity within the MY Orthopaedic Hub at Pontefract Hospital for a Band 6 Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated individual who is passionate about delivering high quality care to our elective orthopaedic patients.

The MY Orthopaedic Hub currently consists of 30 inpatient orthopaedic beds as well as a day case facility caring for orthopaedic, plastic surgery, urology and ophthalmology patients.

We also offer a level one facility to our higher risk patients.

As a band 6 ward Sister/ Charge Nurse your role is pivotal as a proficient role model and clinical expert working alongside the senior nursing team and our Advanced Clinical Practioner.

You must be inspirational and motivated and passionate about delivering safe, high-quality, compassionate care to ensure an excellent patient experience.

The successful post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that a high standard of safe and effective care is delivered to all of our patients and their families or carers. Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to create an environment focused on quality and safety.

A commitment to continuous professional development for both yourself and the team is essential, as this will ensure that our team has the required skills and knowledge to deliver safe and effective care.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced nurse with a high level of clinical competence who is looking to develop their management and leadership skills further.
