Full Job Description

For this post, a strong understanding of current issues in healthcare is essential alongside experience of direct involvement in improving patient safety, risk reduction, the management of evolving clinical situations, and the development of others. An essential element of this role is leadership, and the candidates must be able to demonstrate they are developing their leadership skills and are forward thinking.

We are a dynamic service incorporating Outreach, Follow up Support Service, nursing workforce, medical workforce and Advanced Critical Care Practitioners. This is supported by a Professional Development Team working in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team.

Supported by an enthusiastic and dynamic senior leadership team, we actively encourage your professional and personal development, through a professional team structure and can offer opportunities to access post graduate education including Advanced Life Support.

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated careorganisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.

Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opened in October 2024 and provides care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.

We have three newly emerging strategic objectives:
1. Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
2. Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do
3. Our Population - to work seamlessly with our partners to improve lives
