An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse post to work within the Acute Medical Unit . AMU is a busy and friendly unit with a high turnover of patients both ambulatory and acutely unwell.
Medical Receiving unit has a capacity for 24 patients on level 3, 17 waiting room patient, 12 ambulatory level 2 patients. Majority of our patients are GP referred in and accepted under the medical team.
We are recruiting an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse who is ready for a new challenge in their career. We require staff to provide high quality care to all our patients. We see a large number of patients in the department .
Training and support will be given depending on experience. This is an opportunity to gain management experience and develop yourself clinically and professional with the support of other experienced and established band 6's and unit Manager.
You will be responsible for coordinating the shift and supporting the staff on the shift., + To work as part of a team both on the unit as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to ensure seamless delivery of service.
+ To co-ordinate the unit to maiantain flow and patient journey .
+ To participate in the assessment of care needs of the clients and the development, implementation and evaluation of care, promoting high standards, demonstrating a compassionate nature and promoting patient dignity.
+ To participate as a skilled member of the multi-disciplinary team
+ To work as part of the Urgent Care team, promoting good interdepartmental relationships.
+ To act as clinical advisor on nursing issues to ensure high standards of care are maintained, utilising evidence-based practice.
+ To participate in direct care and facilitate sound discharge planning., The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Torbay Hospital are looking for highly motivated, innovative and experienced senior nurse to join our dynamic team. AMU is a assessment unit that supports the medical take. 2022 changed how we work when we moved into our brand new state of the art facility - this has allowed us to increase the patient numbers, improve experience and flow for our patients.
Working on the unit is both exciting and challenging. We work closely with the Emergency Department caring for a diverse group of acutely unwell medical patients, with Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Gastroenterology and Chronic health conditions. Staff are also exposed to managing patients with a higher acuity within the unit.
