Full Job Description

This clinical band 6 role will be beneficial to the team by allowing a band 5 recovery nurse as part of their working hours, to work 9.5 hours a week as a band 6 in a leadership role. Ensuring succession planning and retention within the department.

This 9.5 hours Band 6 clinical role will support effective clinical decision making by contributing towards the operational flow and capacity by ensuring staff are delivering high quality care competently. With the recent theatre expansion and increased patient throughput, quality leadership will ensure a smooth running department and patient safety is at the forefront within all 3 recovery areas.

By recruiting to these hours, service KPIs will be achieved through the delivery of timely appraisals, sickness management, safer staffing, recruitment, risk management and supporting the Band 7 to lead the department to achieve service/divisional objectives., We are looking for a passionate, motivated and resilient individual for the position of Band 6 Theatre Recovery Practitioner. Their role will be to professionally lead the recovery teams in the clinical area, deputise in the absence of the Band 7 and effectively motivate and encourage staff of all grades. They will ensure Clinical Governance by driving audits, training, risk management and staff management to sustain and improve high standards of patient care.
