Sister/ Charge Nurse Band 6- Vascular (22.5 hours a week)

This is an exciting opportunity for a job within our expanding Vascular Department at Gloucester Hospital, having recently moved and now have 29 beds on our unit. We are a growing department and work collaboratively to ensure our patients receive safe and effective care. Our vision is to excel maintain and further enhance care pathways , patient experience and outcomes. You will be expected to Develop, Lead and Manage a patient centred service delivering and ensuring high standards of care. You will deputise for the Senior Sister and contribute towards Strategic and Operational Transformation of this innovative service by Inspiring Leading and Supporting this team and the specialty with opportunities to develop your own aspirations., To manage and professionally lead the nursing team in the clinical area along with and in the absence of the band 7, and as part of the multi-disciplinary team

To deliver and supervise patient care for the clinical area; ensuring assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a high standard of care

To use a family centred care approach to manage a caseload of patients within a defined clinical area

To be a role model to your own team of nurses and healthcare assistants

- Have the ability to lead team in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care with the multidisciplinary team;

- Have the ability to disseminate contentious and delicate information appropriately;

- To lead and deliver safe person centred care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate. This will include the management of the day surgery unit on a regular basis, involving the effective use of trolley spaces and ensuring staff skill mix remains at an appropriate and safe level;

- To administer medication and treatment within Procedure for the Ordering, Prescribing and Administration of Medical Guidelines;

- To deliver and receive information which may cause emotional distress to all parties;

- Participate in mentorship and educational programmes for students and other members of the team;

- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and professional code of conduct;

- To support line manager
