Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to become part of leading our team in delivering the best care to women with gynecological, female surgical and early pregnancy complications. The role requires excellent clinical and assessment skills and is an ideal opportunity to broaden your experience in women's health whilst leading junior team members to provide the best care as one team. Brockham Ward consists of 13 in-patient beds caring for a wide variety of patients including women recovering from gynaecological surgery, early pregnancy complications, breast surgery and general surgical procedures/conditions. Alongside the Ward, the nurse-led Early Pregnancy Unit assesses and manages patients experiencing complications in early pregnancy up to 16 weeks gestation. This is amalgamated with the Gynaecology Assessment Unit, which assesses gynaecological conditions within the specialist unit, to support the flow of the Emergency Department and provides specialist assessment and advice to wider primary care providers. The Sister role allows for rotation to all these areas, enhancing a wider clinical knowledge and variety to the role. The wide multidisciplinary team offer support to develop skills, knowledge and professional development to widen your experience.

We provide emergency and non-emergency services to the residents of East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, including the major towns of Crawley, Horsham, Reigate and Redhill; a community of over 535,000 people. We provide acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services whilst Crawley Hospital and Horsham in West Sussex and Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey provide less complex planned services. In 2019 the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated our services as 'Outstanding' and we are one of the best performing Trusts in England:

  • Winners of Health Service Journal Acute Trust of the year award 2021.
  • National Patient Safety Awards winner and strive to be a beacon for safety in all that we do.
  • We are rated the sixth highest trust in the South East and in the top 25% nationally for staff recommending the Trust as a place to work or receive treatment.
