Full Job Description

A4 is looking for a highly motivated individual to join its Neuro family as a Sister/Charge nurse. A4 is a 26 female bedded acute Neurosciences ward providing specialist care for patients from across the East Anglian Region. We care for patients who have had complex Neurosurgical and Neurological illness and injuries requiring specialist medical and nursing treatments and interventions. We also form part of the Major Trauma Centre for East of England. A4 is a busy and often challenging clinical environment with a fast pace at times. You will work alongside a friendly and experienced diverse multidisciplinary team supporting the smooth running of A4 providing a vital link between staff members, patients and their relatives to provide and maintain "outstanding" care to our patients as recognized by the Care Quality Commissioner. You need to have a keen interest in neurosciences and wish to continually develop professionally and personally forming part of a holistic multidisciplinary team. You will work with the Senior Sister to provide leadership and support the clinical area undertaking audits, implementing improvement plans and supporting junior staff to develop and progress., Full training and support will be provided to fulfil the role required developing your knowledge and skills not only specifically to Neurosciences but also for leadership and line management. You will be expected to undertake a full range of shift patterns and will be required to hold a rotational neurosciences departmental bleep overseeing multiple clinical areas managing staffing levels, beds, and provide oversight leadership to the multiple clinical areas covered. This role will also include forming part of the hospital's emergency cardiac arrest response team.
