Full Job Description

We are looking for an inspirational and dynamic leader who can bring positivity and energy to the role of Sister within our Ophthalmic Outpatients department, to support the development of services which focus on quality and efficiency in our busy department.

We are a progressive and exciting department, which is continuously adapting to meet the needs and enhance the care provided to our patients and we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to work with and lead the team. The postholder will be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided within the OPD and for leading, supporting and implementing innovative practice.

We will encourage the successful applicant to bring new perspectives to their role and support the management of the team in a progressive way., The Sister / Charge Nurse will lead and work as part of the Ward/Department team, providing professional leadership and management within the work environment. The post holder will be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided within the ward/department and for leading, supporting and implementing innovative practice.

The post holder will provide direct patient care, demonstrating specialist knowledge and act as a resource and role model for the clinical team. To work in liaison with other Senior Nurses/Department Managers and the Assistant Director of Nursing to implement Directorate/Divisional service plans.
