Full Job Description

The role of a Sister/Charge Nurse is to assist the Ward Manager in the overall management of the ward and the co-ordination of the team to ensure safe and effective standards of care is achieved. It is part of your responsibility to uphold the Trust values and behaviours in every action made - this involves both staff management and patient care.

The Surgical Assessment Unit is composed of two units - 18 IP surgical beds and 30 assessment chairs for Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) that caters for multiple surgical specialities primarily General Surgery (Colorectal and Upper GI), ENT, Maxillo-Facial, Urology and Vascular. This is a continuously expanding unit with many opportunities for learning and self-development.
