Full Job Description

Provide support to the Ward Manager/Unit manager to ensure effective day-to-day operational management of the unit.

Achieve a high standard of nursing care. Demonstrate through practice the desired role model to guide all grades of nursing staff.

Promote an environment suitable for the care of children with life threatening illnesses.

Promote evidence based nursing practice.

Contribute to the provision of an effectively management unit by ensuring the needs of the patients, staff and visitors are met.

We are looking to employ a motivated band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, who is keen to join our Multidisciplinary team delivering high class care for children and young people affected by cancer and Haematology conditions. The post is a permeant position for 37.5 hours per week. This will be based across the Inpatient Unit and the Daycase Unit.

Applicants should have relevant experience in caring for children and young people with cancer and other haematological conditions.

The successful applicant will be supported through a structured development approach.
