Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a Site Assistant to support the Facilities Manager in all areas of general maintenance and upkeep of the facilities, maintaining site security and ensuring day-to-day compliance with health and safety to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for Sir Harold Hillier Garden staff and visitors.

This is a vital position requiring the Site Assistant to possess excellent communication and teamworking skills, being flexible in your approach and willing to adapt to meet the changing needs of the organisation.

As the Site Assistant, you will work alongside colleagues as part of the Facilities Team across seven days, ensuring facilities are present onsite across the week.

Sir Harold Hillier Gardens (SHHG) is an esteemed arboretum sprawled across 180 acres, boasting a diverse collection of over 42,000 trees and shrubs. Notably, our collection includes a remarkable array of oaks, camellias, magnolias, and rhododendrons. Founded in 1977 by Sir Harold Hillier, the Gardens were established as a charitable trust, with Hampshire County Council assuming the role of sole trustee. The primary objective of the trust is to perpetuate Sir Harold's legacy by nurturing and enhancing the Gardens for the benefit of the people.

Over the last two decades, visitor numbers and memberships have increased significantly, leading to an expansion of our team to meet the changing needs of our visitors and to further develop our internationally renowned collection.
