As we look to enhance our technical capabilities with tailored automation solutions, we have an outstanding opportunity for a Site Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of engineering within our fully automated distribution centre. You will lead a team of 20 support staff to deliver, maintain, and collaborate at the highest standards, while ensuring excellent relationships are well managed.You will be responsible for

  • Management of one of Tesco's most technologically advanced distribution centres.
  • Leading an onsite team of Multi-skilled engineering technicians. and support staff
  • Effective maintenance planning, monitoring workloads, ensuring the team have the right capacity, capability and coverage to support effective site maintenance, and utilise Internal teams to Identify and remove bottlenecks and improve efficiencies wherever required.
  • Setting and maintaining the highest engineering standards and ensuring statutory compliance
  • Ensuring there is a safe environment for those who work and visit our distribution centre and offices.
  • Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with my stakeholders.
  • Contribute to setting strategy and direction long term as part of wider automation engineering management team.
  • Work with our vendors and contractors ensuring we cover all engineering and maintenance requirements both planned and compliance, to the highest of standards and within planned timescales to budget. Delivering engineering automation maintenance to ensure minimum equipment downtime whilst maintaining effective parts pipeline and critical spares' availability.
  • Working closely with my senior Automation peers to identify where investment is required, then plan and implement effectively.
  • Working proactively to ensure continuous development of your own professional engineering skills as well as those of my team ensuring we're fit to manage and maintain high standard levels.
  • Managing my budgets effectively and to target, always being cost conscious.

    AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robotics) and Automation experience at an operational management level.
  • Demonstrated operational success in people leadership and development.
  • Strong stakeholder management and budget control experience
  • Engineering degree or equivalent and extensive experience in leading large multi-skilled highly qualified engineering teams across a multi disciplined distribution centre.
  • Played a proactive role in shaping future strategic plans
