Full Job Description

Spires Academy is a small school with a modern specification. The buildings are approximately 14 years old. The main element of the role is to ensure the buildings and grounds are to be maintained to a high standard.
The site team is a small friendly team, consisting of experienced members with different skill sets.
Training is offered to widen knowledge and skills within the team.
Responsibilities include:
+ To carry out porterage of furniture, equipment or deliveries as required including the movement of furniture for examinations, parents' evenings, school functions, hirers etc
+ To be aware of the Academy Health and Safety Policy and keep up to date with Health and Safety Regulations
+ To monitor and clean agreed areas during the school day and holidays maintaining the Academy site in a clean condition
+ To be responsible for the locking and unlocking of the site and support in the undertaking of routine checks as required
+ To assist in maintaining the academy grounds, sports pitches and shrubbery, including spraying of appropriate herbicides and pesticides (training provided if required)
+ To assist with service/maintenance of the ground's machinery
+ To assist with general maintenance, repairs, painting and decorating in and around the Academy
+ Ensure footpaths, car parks and paved areas are kept clean and clear of hazards
+ To support activities outside of the normal academy day as required during shift
+ To carry out First Aid duties as required (training provided if required)
+ Support management of lettings, with evening and weekend shifts on a rota system.
