Full Job Description

The children, staff and governors of Corpus Christ RC Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic, hardworking, trustworthy and reliable Site Manager to join our team.

Duties will include opening up and closing the building, carrying out minor repairs & maintenance, cleaning of designated areas, health and safety monitoring, stock control, waste collection, risk assessments and porter service and updating building maintenance portal for which training will be provided.,

  • Support the headteacher by taking responsibility for management of the school site and associated facilities under an agreed system of supervision, taking responsibility for the management and development of specialist site services within the school.

  • To be responsible key holder and manage maintenance, security and facilities systems on site including alarm systems. Manage other site staff including allocation and monitoring of work. There will be cleaning duties, DIY and maintenance and site repairs as well as management of a small team and budgetary responsibility within the role too.

  • To oversee the work of external contractors on site.


  • Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining clean, safe and secure school premises, which includes buildings and grounds

  • Carrying out cleaning, routine maintenance and refurbishment, porterage, and minor repairs

  • Some supervision of school cleaning staff

  • Promoting health and safety around the school

  • All other aspects of site management, such as supervising external contractors, and site use and development planning

  • Any other duties requested by the Headteacher

    The ideal candidate would take pride in their work and want to provide a high quality, integral service to the school to achieve great outcomes for the children and the school communities. They would have previous experience in the maintenance of a site, and their knowledge would extend to upholding compliant standards and the legislation and best practice which achieves this.
