Full Job Description

The post holder is to provide strategic and operational management for all aspects of site management within the buildings managed by the SSM. This includes:

  • Produce and implement site management systems, including operational and safety procedures.

  • Monitor standards of service delivery for compliance - ranging from statutory and contractual requirements and service provision.

  • Lead locally on environment and safety inspections and risk assessments.

  • To lead and project manage locally any refurbishments and/or changes to building use.

  • Liaise with and monitor service providers.

  • Manage site/building emergencies and/or provide advice to managers.

  • Work in collaboration with various stakeholders.

  • Manage directly employed staff., Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust, contributing proactively to any working groups.


  • Represent the Trust in project steering groups to identify and review future service provision of Estates and Facilities contracts, review tender returns as required and contribute to the appointment of new service providers.
  • Setting up working groups to agree and implement any site developments/changes.

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Contribute to SMT business priorities.

  • Manage own workload and those of staff effectively, ensuring work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Ability to use judgement and make decisions using knowledge and appropriate resources.

  • Responsible for own personal development, mandatory and non-mandatory, to ensure the achievement of Trust objectives.

  • Consider aspects of patient and staff safety and the quality of experience throughout the sites.
