Full Job Description

Sixth Form College Leader We are seeking to appoint a committed, driven and inspiring Sixth form College Leader to join our school to support effective and efficient learning, teaching and student progress for students our Sixth Form. Under the supervision of the Assistant Principal for Sixth Form, you will work within Aston University Sixth Form to address the needs of all our students to ensure maximum potential is achieved in their choice of sixth form programme. You will work closely with the Assistant Principal for Sixth Form in tracking student achievement and attainment and will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills to allow effective support to be provided to students as appropriate. This will involve working closely with the Academy leadership team, other support staff, the AUEA Learning Support Centre, and a range of external support agencies as required. The UTC's success has been recognised nationally including the Secretary of State awarding an expansion in September 2023 to 800 students, and a new dedicated building with further STEM specialist facilities, including £350K simulation hospital. This underpins the impact of the UTC recognised by our Ofsted inspection with inspectors stating our specialist employer work and destinations are 'exemplary' with the UTC being Good with Outstanding feature. As well as our own outstanding facilities, our location next to our sponsor Aston University means that we can access resources, and teaching and learning spaces like no other school.
