Full Job Description

Position summary: The role of the Machine Setter Operator is to set, operate and support production requirements on CNC 5 axis machine centers. This role primarily supporting production on one of our two Mazak E1250v 5 axis machine centers.,

  • Support CNC program prove out process during NPI process.
  • Day to day running of 5 axis machine centre Mazak E1250v - Smooth control
  • The machining of complex aluminum and stainless fabrications to tight tolerances
  • Aid the setting up and proving out of programs with Engineers
  • Support and manage the machine tooling to best achieve drawing tolerances
  • Carry out dimensional checks using the designated tools as defined by each program and Op sheet in some cases supporting the development and management of part inspection plans.
  • Set up and run programs in accordance with the Op sheets and Program specifications
  • Escalate any issues, errors or concerns immediately to the Line Manager
  • Support other duties as required by your line manager
  • Support ACE and keep up excellent housekeeping practices
  • Own and practice best practice with machine maintenance, TPM and safe working practices

    Recognized engineering apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent experience
  • Significant relevant professional experience setting and operating various machining centres.
  • Vertical 5 axis machine centres - Matsuura & Mazak would be ideal
  • Mazak Intergrex (Tilting 'B' Axis) experience
  • Understanding of adaptive machining - Renishaw probing essential
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Good level of IT skills
  • Good housekeeping - knowledge of 6 Sigma, ACE or TPS advantageous
  • Team Player
  • Candidate must be able to work shifts.
  • This position may involve access to export controlled information and hardware where an export license would be required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Employment will be subject to satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and if required, completion of a non-disclosure agreement.
