Full Job Description
We are looking for a talented Skilled Technician to join our team specialising in Manufacturing for our Maintenance Department in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. This is a permanent contract involving rotational shift work. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Expert Application of Skills: Utilise your comprehensive knowledge to perform skilled activities that support manufacturing business needs, ensuring high standards.
- Resource Coordination: Work with relevant functions to select and utilise appropriate resources, tools, machinery, and speciality equipment, acting as a formal resource to lead and coordinate others.
- Safety Leadership: Promote HSE standards, report hazards, use PPE, and engage in HSE training.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality inspections, support equipment failure analysis, and ensure all process documents and quality procedures are updated.
- Team Communication: Communicate effectively with your team and support teams, participating in training and personal development, and engaging with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Problem Solving: Collaborate with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and improve processes, actively implementing solutions.
- Adaptability: Adapt to changes, maintain a clean and orderly work area, and perform preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
- Environmental Stewardship: Minimise negative environmental effects, correcting hazards within your control and capabilities. RESPONSIBILITIES To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Ensure Controls Safety: Identify and address hazards related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls, incorporating safe practices into daily work to create a safe machine environment.
- Apply Manufacturing Knowledge: Implement changes in processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing.
- Collaborate Effectively: Build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.
- Champion Health and Safety: Proactively model and promote health and safety behaviours.
Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialised training and relevant experience. - Essential: Electrically biased multiskilled/mechatronic background.
- Strong understanding of assembly line and machine tool maintenance.
- Advantageous: PLC knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi PLCs.
- Preferred: In-depth understanding of maintenance safe systems of work, including Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Beneficial: Experience in software integration and fault-finding.
