Small Works and Repairs Technical Officer

The Council has a great opportunity for someone wanting to work repairs and maintenance. Working with the team you will be specifying works, completing procurement and liaising with contractors to ensure our assets are effectively maintained.

There will be small scale capital works to refurbish and improve our facilities both in the operational portfolio and the community assets. The Council also has a range of structures such as bridges and retaining walls which need contractor maintenance plus car parks managed under Traffic Regulation Orders.

The wide range of properties within the operational, commercial and community portfolios gives team members varied and interesting work.

Good communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with our contractors and customers. Applicants should have general knowledge and experience of maintenance and construction in buildings. The team is based in Castle House, Newcastle and you will also need a current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle that you are prepared to use for work purposes. The team also has an out of hours rota which you may be required to participate in., Good communication skills
