Full Job Description

Bolton is committed to improving outcomes and experiences for its people, aiming for prosperity through service transformation and reform. With a strong foundation in delivering quality public services and person-centred care, Bolton focuses on promoting wellbeing in partnership.
Our 'Return to Social Work' program offers reflective supervision by a qualified social worker, along with a comprehensive training and support package. This will help you refresh your skills and complete the Social Work England registration, preparing you to resume practice.
Training support will vary based on your time away from social work. A 2-5 year gap requires 30 development days, while a 5-10 year gap or overseas qualification requires 60 days.
A Return to Social Work - Social Care Assessor opportunity is available with the Adult Social Care Team, working with adults aged 18+ through end of life, offering varied and multifaceted work.
As a Social Care Assessor some of the tasks you will be completing are:
Detailed assessment of need (Care Act) and effective asset/strength- based support planning, taking into account available resources, universal and voluntary services, identifying and managing risks, completing carers assessments, mental capacity and best interest work and preparing for and participating in decision-making forums and multi-disciplinary meetings.
Tasks must follow legislation, policies, procedures, and best practices. The role also involves covering a busy duty service, handling referrals, and providing advice to the public and professionals.

Are you a qualified Social Worker currently not registered with Social Work England? If you are interested in returning to Social Work, we will support you with training and development opportunities, so you are in a position to submit your registration portfolio to SW England within a 12-month period.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for working with adults in Bolton. The ideal candidate will be an individual who can demonstrate understanding of the needs, aspirations and the ability to support adults to enhance their quality of life.

You will have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with service users, carers, team members, and external organisations. You will have the skills to be actively involved in multidisciplinary team working and decision making.

This is your opportunity to join us at an exciting time as we have strong ambitions for the borough.
