Full Job Description
The Balfour Beatty Regional Civils in the North East, Yorkshire and Humber regions are seeking a Social Impact Advisor to join our Social Impact team. As our Social Impact Advisor, you will be working within our team to shape, lead and manage events and programmes that deliver against our project requirements and make a difference to the communities where we operate, within our Social Impact Regional model. The role involves travel between sites and across the North East, Yorkshire and Humber region.What you'll be doing As a Social Impact Advisor, you will have the following accountabilities:
- Supporting our Regional Civils Business in the East to deliver social impact outcomes by developing local networks of school groups, community groups, third sector organisations, employability partners and charities.
- Create and deliver project Local Needs Analysis and Social Impact plans in line with client and community priorities.
- Managing attendance at events with schools, colleges and universities in areas of STEM and construction careers including developing relationships with local schools and education organisations
- Promoting apprenticeship opportunities both with Balfour Beatty and through our supply chain.
- Coordinating a variety of charitable donations and community-based volunteering opportunities, aligned with our Building New Futures strategy.
- Support Considerate Constructor Scheme audits on site by attending training provided by CCS and supporting with evidence gathering for monitor visits.
- Reporting and monitoring social impact outcomes which includes evidencing local labour, local spend, arranging work experience, recruitment from priority groups including participants from pre-employability support programmes, positive destination programmes and coordinating community-based activities.
- Promoting the successes of our project teams' social impact through creating case studies, good news articles and promoting successes internal and external.
- Advising the project teams on how to improve their Social Impact data and performance.
You will have the following: - A genuine passion for making a difference and supporting North East, Yorkshire and Humber.
- An awareness of the 'Social Impact' landscape in the North East, Yorkshire and Humber regions including legislation, the Social Value Portal TOMs and the ethos of socially sustainable development.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and planning skills and the ability to 'get things done' on projects that often have multiple interested stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Strong IT skills across the Microsoft suite and comfortable learning about and working with new and evolving digital tools to improve the way we work.
- Experience of working in a community facing role is desirable but not essential.
- Full Clean UK Driving License and willingness to travel.

- Understanding of the third sector
- Knowledge of the education system and/or STEM
- Experience of working with Priority Groups or those furthest from employment
