Full Job Description

  • Assist the UK Head of Social in scheduling and posting to all Mail Sport social feeds and channels, as well as the main MailOnline social platforms where needed.
  • Proactively research and find the latest news and viral trends ahead of competitors.
  • Cover live sporting events and breaking news on existing and emerging social media platforms.
  • Creating captions, headlines and thumbnails to generate article traffic to our five million Facebook audience.
  • An eye for identifying new trends, platforms and initiatives which can enhance the Mail Sport brand.
  • Working across a seven-day rota and covering live-events as they happen.
  • Monitoring article traffic using social media analysis tools and reporting back to the wider team.

    Prior experience working with social platforms and crowdsourcing or experience managing social media platforms for a digital media publication is preferable.
  • Comfortable working across all sections of MailOnline's editorial content alongside sport.
  • Ability to gather and analyse social media data and analytics.
  • Good use of Adobe, including Photoshop.
  • Ability to use your own initiative and make effective decisions.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Understanding of all social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, Whatsapp and other websites.
  • Must be able to come to the office four to five days per week.
