We are delighted to partner with a leading secondary school in Portsmouth, renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and student well-being. They are currently seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic Social Sciences Teacher to join their dedicated Humanities faculty in a full-time, permanent position starting this September., This is a unique opportunity to inspire young minds and cultivate a passion for the social sciences, including subjects such as sociology, psychology, and anthropology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and innovative curriculum, fostering critical thinking, research skills, and social awareness in students across Key Stages 3 and 4.,
- Design and deliver engaging and informative social sciences lessons aligned with the national curriculum and school's educational philosophy.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, exploration, and inquiry.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to facilitate individual growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop and enhance the social sciences curriculum and extracurricular activities.
- Stay abreast of current research and trends in the social sciences, incorporating relevant and contemporary examples into your teaching.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field. - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching social sciences at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4., Passionate about the social sciences, with a strong commitment to inspiring and educating young people.
- Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
