Full Job Description

The Social Value Practice Lead provides leadership, direction, and advice to the collective social value managers and coordinators in our NDA Solutions business. You will report directly to the Group Director.,

  • Overseeing the current implementation and future development of our Social Value Plan.
  • Developing and updating our Social Value Strategy
  • Defining the Social Value Function scope and resourcing requirements.
  • Managing the Social Value Schedule of Activity - reporting on planned and actual milestone achievements.
  • Assessment of opportunities for our social value consultancy offer
  • Assessment and planning for stakeholder engagement with clients, professional bodies, supply chain, universities, etc.
  • Coordinating our Social Value managers to ensure activities are delivered on time, within budget and achieve business case benefits where applicable.
  • Liaison with our Head of Social Value or similar to report progress (outputs/outcomes).
  • Manage and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners including the local authority and key anchor organisations in relation to Social Value.
  • Oversee any Key Performance Indicators related to Social Value.
  • Oversee successful completion of our Social Value assurance measures.
  • Report and escalate matters to the Sponsor for Social Value, as and when required, ensuring levels of the organisation have visibility of key activities.
  • Manage and report the forward plan to ensure senior management and the client have assurance of planned activities, activities completed and forecast of activities to complete.
  • Support development of Amentum social value strategies and plans for specific clients and projects.

    Experienced in leading UK based Social Impact activities, applying, and developing recognised best-practice methodologies in large organisations or seeking to grow in this area.
  • A member of the Institute of Social Value (Social Value UK) or Social Value International (SVI) and ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of social value.
  • Knowledge of social value metric setting, measurement and reporting tools.
  • Commitment to operate to the high standards of behaviours needed for success: safety and wellbeing, ambition, diversity, inclusion, equality, empowerment & energy, and trust & respect.
  • Able to build relationships at all levels within both private and public sector organisations.
  • Good understanding of the nuclear skills and skills for nuclear environment and the supply chain.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders from private, public and third sector organisations, including C-suite levels.
  • Due to the significant level of stakeholder engagement and coordination required, this position requires the ability to travel across the UK.
