Full Job Description
Schoen Clinic Newbridge are looking for a Social Worker to join their team. The role involves supporting patients with mental health difficulties as part of a diverse team. The focus is on offering experienced social work input, shaping the role, and providing valuable advice on safeguarding matters.
This is a part time role working 30 hours per week.
Here are some of the key things you'll be responsible for:
- To promote and provide expertise and guidance to the wider MDT on a range of social care interventions, which acknowledge the health and social context of the women under the care of the service.
- To liaise with patients, their families, other disciplines and agencies to monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.
- To monitor patients on going mental state and parenting capability in relation to their mental health and recognise any issues around safeguarding children; therefore, ensuring the wellbeing of the child always remains paramount.
- To make strong links with agencies towards greater social inclusion for patients and carers and to act as a resource for the MDT on identifying and accessing relevant agencies and unmet needs.
- To promote awareness of the role of social worker within the team, negotiating priorities where appropriate.
- Work within NICE guidelines, Schoen Clinic policies and procedures, Professional Codes of Conduct and Health and Safety at Work Act.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent in social work, current social work England registration and level 3 safeguarding training for adults and children. - Experience of multi-disciplinary working with adults with mental health conditions.
- Practice experience of applying assessment skills within a statutory social work setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding for adults with care and support needs and children at risk.
- Knowledge of methods of social work intervention.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations guidance & policy issues.
- Knowledge & understanding of reporting issues to relevant external bodies.
- Contemporary knowledge of social work & social work applications; i.e. attachment theory, enabling change and behaviour management.
