Full Job Description

  • Mental Health Services are currently looking for an experienced Qualified Senior Social Worker, The Community Engagement and 18-40's Team has a strength based and recovery focused approach, ensuring that citizens who require Mental Health support can live healthy, safe, independent, and fulfilling lives. The Team supports citizens to access training, employment, volunteering, and other activities that are meaningful to them. Citizens are also signposted to allied services to maximise their health and wellbeing, these may include housing, benefits and health services and other appropriate services. Social care staff ensure that the required statutory duties are met relating to citizens and carers and any other duties as declared by the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 as amended by the 2007 Act, The Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Human Rights Act 1998, and any other related legislation. Furthermore, the Team are committed to partnership working and work closely health colleagues to achieve best outcomes for citizens. We are committed to co-production and this approach to research,

  • policy and practice in Mental Health, based on the principle that people who use services have valuable knowledge and expertise.

    It is an exciting time to join the Service as there have been a lot of positive developments within the past 12 months. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be supported to enhances their skills, knowledge and competencies and enhance their career opportunities, including the opportunity to undertake post-qualifying qualifications.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice including The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Mental Health Act (MHA), Human Rights Act, Equalities Act and a detailed awareness of both national and local policies and procedures relevant to Social Work/Social Care are essential

  • The ideal candidate will have had direct experience working with citizens that have a diagnosis of Mental Health or experiencing emotional distress

  • The ideal candidate will already hold one of the following professional qualifications or be willing to undertake AMHP/BIA/ or Practice Educator training, this is essential to be considered for this role

  • The ideal candidate will have had experience of offering support and/ or supervising members of staff and will be expected to do this as part of their job role
