Full Job Description

To deliver and provide social work services, at a level appropriate for a professionally qualified post, to children with complex disabilities and their families to ensure the welfare of children is safeguarded and they are protected in accordance with the legal and statutory obligations of Northamptonshire Children Trust.

You will be a qualified social worker with proven post qualification experience ideally with experience of working within children with disabilities and their families.

Northamptonshire Children's Trust was established in November 2020 to deliver Children's Services to the newly established North and West Northants County Councils. The Trust is wholly owned and funded but operationally independent from the Councils; this provides the organisation with unique opportunities to explore new ways of working and to be more agile and adaptable in its approach to service delivery. We are developing a culture that allows the very highest quality of professional practice to flourish and evolve, delivering at the cutting edge of new innovation.

The Children with Disabilities Team supports children with complex disabilities and their families. The team consists of Team Managers, Advanced Practitioners, Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, ASYEs, Family Support workers and dedicated Business support.

We work with children aged 0-18 covering children in need, child protection and safeguarding, court work and Children in Care. The team works closely with colleagues in health, education and the voluntary sector using a multi-disciplinary team approach.

What will you be doing?

About you

You should be a qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England andhave the commitment and passion to be at the forefront of delivering best practice and support to children and families. You will be able to manage a complex and diverse caseload to the required standards.
