Join Children's Social Care as a Social Worker on a starting salary of £40,833, and receive a Welcome Bonus of £1000 paid in your first month's salary and a Retention Bonus as the following, We've got an exciting opportunity for you as an Assessing Social Worker as part of our Fostering Service within Children's Social Care. Our mission is to empower children to live independently as possible and provide the necessary support in safeguarding their well-being. We need your expertise to make it happen. In this role, your responsibility will include:

Recruit, assess, and monitor the continued suitability and competence of foster carers. This includes holding information sessions, attending to screening calls, undertaking initial enquiries, Initial Home Visit, Skills to foster training, stage to assessments, and attending fostering panel.
Participating in promotion of fostering service.
Completing timely assessments and sensitive to the needs of the prospective foster carers.
Ensuring assessments undertaken to identify foster carers suitable for a child are informed by a clear understanding of the child's needs and of the skills necessary to help and support them.
We aim to deliver a Fostering Services that recruits a range of foster carers who can meet the diverse needs of children who are looked after. This role will challenge you in a dynamic and diverse environment whilst helping you to expand your knowledge and skill set in the practice of children social care. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with outstanding communication skills and a compassionate manner capable of effectively managing high levels of emotional distress. Have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Have sound knowledge and ability to deliver social work support to service users and their families.
Ability to communicate complex social issues clearly to both patients and professionals.
Ability to plan and coordinate social care plans and aspects of patient discharge.

Working with Kingston University and regional partners as part of the Developing Together Social Work Teaching Partnership (SWTP). The partnership offers staff a wide range of pre- and post-qualifying education opportunities to promote continuous learning and development. This includes staff being encouraged to support the practice education of Social Work students and those in the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE). Staff are also given the opportunity to attend conferences, and workshops and have access to research and practice resources to support their ongoing professional development.
