Full Job Description
Join the Children Looked After service, and you'll be responsible for ongoing assessment work and intervention with children and families. It's all about progressing children's plans and ensuring that they have access to the right level of service at the right time. You'll work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to make sure that the child's voice is always heard and recorded, and that it forms an integral part of your case planning.
To apply for this role, you'll need to be an experienced social worker with a degree in social work or equivalent, a diploma in social work or certificate in social services. You'll also need post-qualifying experience in children and families work, and to have completed your ASYE.
At Shropshire Council's Children's Services, it's all about the care. It always has been and always will be. We care for some of the most vulnerable children and their families in Shropshire. We care that children's voices are heard. We believe that when we treat children and young people with respect and trust, love and encouragement, we give children every opportunity to grow. We care for our staff, too. Which is why we're investing in everything from new staff to new ways of working, so that our brilliant teams can do what they do best: give the best possible care to the children of Shropshire. And because we care about the great work you do, you'll enjoy a £5,000 retention payment, too. Because this is more than a job. It's a career. And it's all about the care.
