Full Job Description

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in delivering practical and social work support to children, young people, and families with complex needs. You will manage a varied caseload, undertaking assessments, making regular home visits, conducting interventions, and directly working with those in need. You will also review the work completed to ensure the best outcomes, always prioritizing the well-being and growth of the children and families in your care.

In this role, you will:

  • Handle complex caseloads, providing specialist support where needed.

  • Undertake thorough assessments of children and families' needs.

  • Work closely with children, young people, and families through direct engagement and practical interventions.

  • Regularly review the progress of your work and adapt plans as necessary.

  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams to deliver holistic support.

  • Mentor junior staff, offering work-shadowing opportunities and potential pathways to achieving further qualifications.

You will also have:

  • A degree in Social Work and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) on the Social Care Register or Social Work England (SWE).

  • Post-qualification experience in children and families social work, ideally within statutory or voluntary settings.

  • Knowledge of the full range of services available to children and families, and how these fit within the organizational and legislative frameworks.

  • Proven ability to engage professionally with children, young people, and their families, building trust and providing meaningful support.

  • A commitment to best practices, always acting in the best interests of the child.
