- Would you like to join a transformational council that is investing in social work training programmes in systemic practice? Look no further, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has the perfect opportunity for you! Our Children's Services is focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for our children and young people. We are creating an empowering environment where social work practice can thrive, where social workers are encouraged to be innovative and creative to ensure the services we offer to children and families help improve their lives. We have a highly experienced and dedicated permanent management team who are aspirational for the service. This means you will have a consistent manager and clear direction and support. You will be working from our new state-of-the-art council office on the riverside in Stockton, with free parking, a great riverside café, and large modern office spaces. We are currently recruiting qualified Social Workers for our Assessment Team, our Children & Families Social Care Teams, and our Through Care Team. As a Social Worker in the Assessment Team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, providing short term help and support to families. As a Social Worker in the Children & Families Social Care Teams, you will build longer term relationships with children and their families. In this varied role, you will be responding to, co-ordinating and delivering social care services to children, young people and their families for children who have a child in need plan or child protection plan, including those who may be involved in PLO and court proceedings. As a Social Worker in our Through Care Team you will support children and young people through their journey of care and into permanent arrangements for secure and loving homes. You will be skilled at listening to the voice of the child and working effectively with parents / carers and professionals from a range of agencies to improve the lived experience of children and young people in our care. You will be committed to building trusted relationships with our children, their families and their carers to help build and secure networks that will support our children into adulthood and beyond. We will provide a nurturing environment where your practice will flourish to contribute to positive outcomes for our children, young people and their families.
