Full Job Description
The Software Asset Manager is responsible for ensuring that all software within the Agency is managed responsibly throughout its entire life-cycle. The role holder is tasked with optimising the processes and procedures for Software Asset Management, ensuring that accurate and reliable information is available when needed.,
- The design, development and implementation of the Software Asset Management processes and procedures, monitoring effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ensuring that all changes to software and services are appropriately and accurately, identified, controlled, recorded and properly cared for throughout their life-cycle, ensuring legal compliance and good utilisation of assets.
- The identification, control, recording of, reporting, auditing and verification of services, Software licence compliance, ensuring customers services continue to operate.
- Working closely with configuration management to ensure that the data in the CMDB is valid, standardised and updated within our limitations.
- Initiating assessment of consequences and risks arising from decisions to obtain, change or continue the possession or use of an asset, system or service.
- Ensuring all tickets (both Incident and Requests) received into the Software Asset Management area are managed in a timely manner and follow the correct incident/request processes.
- Advising stakeholders on the impact of incidents using the knowledge contained within the software data repository.
