Full Job Description

  • The full software development life cycle of new and existing geospatial web applications and APIs.

  • Creating and improving tools for analysing our data and to automate in-house processes.

  • Streamlining the release and configuration of our applications.

    Ideally, you will have:

  • 3+ years' experience of software development

  • Experience with Python or another OOP language

  • An understanding of database migrations

  • Experience using an MVC framework

  • Knowledge of a front-end framework, e.g. Angular, React

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently


    • Further nice-to-have experience:
  • Geospatial technologies, e.g. Leaflet, Mapbox vector tiles, PostGIS

  • Python Flask framework

  • Linux servers

  • Managing large datasets/databases

  • TDD and CI/CD pipelines

  • AWS EC2, RDS and Glacier Vault

    SatSense are an innovative satellite ground movement data company with unique capabilities and big ambitions. Our InSAR dataset holds valuable information for infrastructure, property, insurance, utilities, mining, energy, and construction applications. We help asset managers and engineers remotely assess and manage risk imposed by historic or ongoing ground and structural movements.


    • With venture capital backing and experiencing rapid growth, we are looking for a software developer to grow with the company.     We have hundreds of millions of ground movement measurement points across the UK alone - each with a time history of over 250 dates, going back to 2015. Each point gets updated weekly, and we aim to do this within 12-24 hours after the satellite overflight.

    To get this data to our clients and partners, we have a set of web-based client facing tools that we are keen to develop further, and we're looking for an experienced Developer to help us do that.

  • Salary - £35,000 - £45,000
