Full Job Description

We are looking to offer a Full Stack Software Developer the opportunity to join our expanding IT Development team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. About your team You will be a part of our MGS IT Development Team who are responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software and systems across M Group. These include both inhouse developed and 3rd party application across Water, Energy, Telecom, Transport and Plant and Fleet business divisions. About your role Reporting to the Group IT Systems Development Manager, you will be joining a well-established team of developers and be responsible for designing and developing business systems software across MGS. The role will require working closely with project teams, delivering solutions which align to the business and systems requirements, attending project meetings, and working with QA teams to ensure all defects are resolved. As part of the role, you will also be responsible for reporting and resolving suspected non-compliance software issues. We offer a flexible working environment where hybrid working has been embedded. You would be required to attend the office three days per week., As the Full Stack Software Developer, you'll get the opportunity to :

  • Design, develop and implement new system solutions.
  • Write high-quality code using the latest engineering tools and best practices according to company standards.
  • Write design documentation and release notes in line with good practice and company standards.
  • Support, maintain and uplift the current application estate.
  • Provide technical support to both customers and employees for issues escalated from the technical helpdesk.
  • Maintain source control according to company standards.
  • Work with Stakeholders, Business Analysts, and other IT colleagues throughout the design and build stages

    2+ years of C#Microsoft.Net Full Stack development experience in a commercial environment
  • Good knowledge of SQL (Oracle SQL or SQL Server) and preferably Oracle PL / SQL.
  • Knowledge of a Source Control System (Team Foundation Server, Source Safe, Azure DevOps, etc).
  • Have good attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, analytic and problem-solving skills. You will be interested in technology and keep up to date with new and emerging techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge and experience Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
