Full Job Description

We have a new vacancy for a Software Developer in Shipley, reporting to the Senior Software Engineer. The role will be responsible for a range of activities with the purpose of supporting the development of the business and engineering systems. In particular the internal PLM system and external portal, as well as the MRP systems, production data capture and other additional business critical software and projects.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability in software and database development, working to industry standards with knowledge of underlying system architectures. The ideal candidate will have experience liaising with stakeholders to identify their systems requirements, troubleshoot problems that arise and help keep all systems running smoothly. A solid understanding and knowledge of drawing up hardware specifications, assisting in the maintenance of servers and other systems hardware, and assisting in upgrade and maintenance of business systems is essential.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in providing technical support and training for all users of company systems, continually assessing requirements and opportunities for new software or systems upgrades and producing business cases for approval of expenditure on systems or upgrades.

Experience and knowledge of C# .NET, SQL(MYSQL / MSSQL) and JavaScript is essential for this role. Experience with React or other front-end frameworks; Version control (Git), as well as CI/CD pipelines; Database management; and CAD Systems is desirable., You must have a bachelor's degree in a Computing/Software engineering discipline or equivalent. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills to communicate technical information with various stakeholders; together with strong verbal and written skills, problem solving skills, the ability to work effectively within, and across, project teams and be highly organised with a high level of attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high quality of work, adaptability, take initiative and make sound judgments based upon sound analysis.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday on the admin flexi pattern. The starting salary for this role commences at grade C9, which currently equates to £33,836. Additional benefits include a competitive pension scheme, bonus, Westfield health membership and a life assurance scheme.
