Full Job Description

As a Software Engineer for the Transport Club you will contribute to this by helping people adopt public transport and get the best out of their public transport experience. Your role will involve: As a DDaC Transport Club software engineer with our CMS & Portals value stream, team members will develop, maintain, and support the Transport Club's CMS and Portal products, as well as any associated dependencies and common libraries. These products provide our clients, and members of the public, with a view into their travel accounts. Providing access to smart card travel, journey and financial transaction information for major transport operators across the country. Team members work using devOps skills to provide development capability as well as support for the products via escalations from our own Transport Club Service Desk, and support the use of our products by third party clients. Working as part of an agile team you will be seeing product increments through from design to deployment, configuring and enabling existing product features, and suggesting and implementing software and process improvements to continuously improve the team and the products as you go. Your transferable skills and experience:

  • Java development
  • Relational databases
  • Software engineering best practices
  • Automated software testing techniques
  • 'DevOps' deployment and integration technologies and techniques
  • Agile scrum process
