Software Engineer Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team that develops and operates the UK's largest Public Wifi network. We need a software engineer with strong Java development skills to build and support new and existing applications, products and play a part in transforming to cloud-based solutions. The team you will be joining uses agile methodologies and has years of experience in a range of software development tools and works on multiple applications. You will be a self-starter and have the chance to work closely with the product team to take developments through to operation., Designing, developing new and maintaining existing Java applications to ensure security compliance.
- Migrating on-premises applications to cloud based architectures such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Maintaining Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant applications that support credit card and Apple Pay transactions.
- DevOps to ensure service availability, monitoring and potentially fixing any in-life operational issues.
- Planning and undertaking deployment of changes to the Public WIFI platform.

On occasion, this will require some overnight working alongside the test teams.

The successful candidate will have a desire to develop and support software that delivers excellent operational performance coupled with knowledge and experience with the following:
- Java and Springboot frameworks
- Version control using Git
- Ansible Automation and Gradle.
