Apple's Weather Forecasting team is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with a passion for machine learning to enhance our weather forecasting systems. As a key team member, you will primarily focus on software development, but your expertise in machine learning will be instrumental in our efforts. You will: Design, build, and maintain scalable software systems that drive our weather forecasting processes. Utilize machine learning knowledge to develop innovative forecasting models and algorithms that improve accuracy and reliability. Collaborate closely with our team of meteorologists and software engineers to translate complex weather knowledge into practical solutions. Optimize data processing pipelines and work with large-scale datasets to ensure efficient and reliable data handling. Contribute to the development of our software architecture and design patterns, ensuring the long-term sustainability of our systems. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional software engineering

skills, a strong understanding of machine learning principles, and the ability to work independently. You have a track record of building scalable, data-driven solutions and a passion for solving complex problems.,

  • Familiarity with designing data processing systems for large-scale datasets.
  • At least 2 years of Python experience for large-scale data handling.
  • Strong understanding of software systems and architecture, including existing data flows, design decisions, and trade-offs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field., Deep experience with Python or other language for large-scale data processing.
  • Proficiency in machine learning, particularly neural networks, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of remote sensing, models, and various observational datasets.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and their applications.
