Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a unique software team that is responsible for designing, developing, and testing new software solutions for downhole drilling systems. We are actively seeking a talented intern to join the self-organising and fast-moving software development team. You will be empowered to help own the quality of new features in development and releases. You will also be collaborating with developers and engineers to build and maintain high-quality capabilities that focus on improving code quality and development processes. Ultimately, this opportunity enables you learn from team members who are able to mentor and coach you to grow in programming for systems engineering and desktop application development. Deliverables: The primary activities will be Unit Testing of functional components that comprise our downhole embedded software as well as creating virtual simulation environments. These virtual environments will mock interfaces and hardware-specific logic to allow higher level applications run on generic linux PC distros like ubuntu. Your tasks will include:

  • Interfacing with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop, maintain and improve Unit tests for embedded software projects.
  • Enable capability for application testing and test execution in virtual environments that mimic embedded systems (like Linux)
  • Understand, develop, publish and review technical documentation and requirements
  • Participate in test suite development
  • test cases documentation and implementation
  • Implement and execute tests for Embedded hardware applications
  • Implement CI/CD with support from other QA team members to ensure test executes with commits
  • Publish and report test activity reports and development status
